Abstract:
Background: Breast self-examination is a simple, very low cost; noninvasive with no special material/tool requirements; and it is an effective diagnostic method for breast cancer, which only takes five minutes to apply. Objective: to assess the level of Knowledge and Practice of Breast self-examination among nursing and physiotherapy students in one of the Private University in Malaysia.
Subjects and methods: Descriptive, cross sectional study was used for conducting the study, a regular random sample has been used, total of 170 student were involved. Data collected using questionnaire. Validity and pilot study were examined with ethical approval from both faculties.
Results: Study results have shown that 81.2% of the respondents had good overall knowledge towards BSE, The major source of information about BSE (40.0% ) was mass media and classes in the study and (21.2%) practice BSE always every month. There was a significant difference between academic levels towards Knowledge of BSE. At the same time, there was a significant difference between level of Study and practice of BSE (P= 0.009). Base on comparison using T-Test on their knowledge and Practice of BSE, there was a highest knowledge of BSE among Physiotherapy students than nursing while level of Practice was High among the Nursing Students. Conclusion and recommendation: There was High level of Knowledge of BSE among the respondents. Nursing Student was found having the highest level of Practice while Physiotherapy had the highest Knowledge of BSE. Mass media and classes were their sources of Information; therefore, Mass Media is an important source of information about BSE to improve awareness among the community as well as including it in the curriculum from year 1 to year 4

Title: METASTASIS OF BREAST CANCER.
Biography:
Navneet Kaur, Assistant Professor at Maharishi Markandeswar institute of medical sciences & research; Haryana, Mullana-Ambala,India. Published an article on Isolated midbrain metastasis from breast cancer is a rare occurrence. we present a classical clinic image of a women who presented with breast cancer with synchronous isolated midbrain metastasis.
Abstract:
Isolated midbrain metastasis from breast cancer is a rare occurrence. we present a classical clinic image of a women who presented with breast cancer with synchronous isolated midbrain metastasis. The brain is one of the common sites of metastases from breast cancer next only to the bone, liver and lung. Solitary brain metastases are now common with the increasing use of surveillance imagining. But isolated midbrain metastases is still a rare occurrence. A 50 year old perimenopausal lady presented to the neurologist with dropping of the right eyelid and diplopia. She was evaluated neurologically and found to have isolated third cranial or the Occulomotor nerve palsy on the right. A CECT i.e. Contrast enhanced Computerised Tomography was done on the brain reported a single space occupying lesion in the midbrain. When probed further, she revealed a right-sided breast lump. She was then referred to the surgical oncology department. Clinical evaluation did reveal a right-sided LABC i.e. locally advanced breast cancer with classical Peau’d orange appearance on her right breast . A trucut biopsy was done which confirmed invasive ductal carcinoma of breast. Even though the patient was very sick and lost to follow-up, the clinical picture is a classic spotter diagnosis. There are enough literature and guidelines to optimize the treatment of brain metastasis in breast cancer. But due to the proximity of numbers, isolated midbrain metastasis from breast cancer has not been addressed so well. However, in the era of precision radiation and targeted therapy, isolated mid brain metastasis is still potentially curable provided they present early. A multimodal approach including SBRT i.e.Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy to the metastatic lesion in the midbrain along with systematic therapy will be the best practice in such a case.
